Business mission to Tunisia: technology workshop in the restoration sector

Tunis – The Italian Trade Agency (ICE), in collaboration with Assorestauro, Oice, and Ferrara Expo (Salone del Restauro), is organizing a business mission to Tunisia focused on the restoration sector. The initiative includes a technology workshop on Italian know-how in restoration, reconstruction, and the enhancement of artistic and architectural heritage, as well as bilateral meetings with local institutions and companies and site visits to major restoration projects and locations of interest. The mission will take place in Tunis and other Tunisian cities from April 26 to 30. Tunisia boasts a particularly dynamic restoration sector, driven by the preservation and recovery of its exceptionally rich historical heritage, shaped by Punic, Roman, Arab, and Ottoman influences. The country is home to nine UNESCO World Heritage sites – including Carthage, Dougga, El Jem, Kerkouane, and the medinas of Tunis, Sousse, and Kairouan, as well as elements such as the southern Tunisian Limes – alongside major archaeological sites like Chemtou and Sbeïtla and unique cultural landscapes such as the ksour of the south, bearing witness to a millennia-old history.
