Sept. 20 - Italy and Brazil are on the hunt for new business cooperation opportunities. Two delegations met "on neutral ground" in Florida, in Miami, at the Coral Gables Museum, for a conference entitled: 'Italy -Brazil: Business Opportunities,' attended by representatives of both public institutions and private businesses. The most notable participants were: Ambassador Hélio Vitor Ramos, also Consul General of Brazil in Miami; Adolfo Barattolo, the Italian Consul General in Miami; João Bernardo Barbosa, CEO of Giraffas Brazilian Steaks and Burgers; and Diego Stecchi, Chairman of Salvatore Ferragamo Latin America. "Italy must protect and enhance its know-how to affirm its leadership in international markets," said Fabio De Furia, president of the Consorzio Roma Ricerche. "Our entrepreneurs’ great skills and those of Italian researchers in industrial sectors is an intangible asset of paramount importance for the development not only of our economic system but also of others. Beyond the traditional leading sectors of Made in Italy, Italy can export knowledge and talents. The Central and South America markets offer an opportunity for that part of the Italian system, including for companies with high technological levels that invest in research and development, which may find in these emergent market a valuable partner."


THE CONSORZIO ROMA RICERCHE

The Consorzio Roma Ricerche (CRR) was founded in 1986 as a nonprofit organization made up of private and public entities. Its aim is to achieve institutional linkages between universities and industrial sectors to promote the transfer of innovative technologies and support the competitiveness of the industrial system. With the experience gained in the years in different contexts, today the CRR has broad and well-established national and European partnerships. The CRR ensures direct support and integrated technical and scientific expertise, economic-financial advice and management to support the implementation of the programs of technological development at the European, national and local level in relation to the specific design requirements of different enterprises. In addition, the CRR promotes the aggregation of small businesses in cooperative research programs, contributing to the definition of integrated solutions, optimizing the mode of technology transfer and ensuring the complementarity of a multidisciplinary approach.
