July 23 - This year, there is more anticipation than usual among international vintage car collectors, as they get ready for the annual August event in Pebble Beach, California. This year, two extraordinary classic Ferraris, a 275 GTB / C Speciale and a 250 GTO, will be auctioned off. In neither case have experts given an estimated selling price, but most think that the two cars will sell for as much as - and perhaps exceed - the 2013 record for a private sale of a GTO, sold at 38.45 million, or the records registered at an auction, namely the 2011 Testa Rossa sold at 11.91 million, and the 1954 Ferrari 375-Plus sold at Goodwood for 13.5 million.
THE TWO MODELS
The 250 GTO was the highest point of development reached by the 250 GT competition models, while remaining a car can also be used on normal roads. It made its public debut in January 1962, and was the only model with the engine in the front. All of the previous models had the engine in a central position. The Ferrari 275 GTB / C Speciale was built in 1964 and put together by Scaglietti. It is one of only the three built at Maranello with these specifications. Described by the magazine Classic Driver as "the cream of the cream of the crop" to emphasize its historical importance, this car is the close heir of the GTO and was produced between late 1964 and early 1965.
