Privacy. First Italian-Spanish<br>study meeting

(8 June 2018) Friday June 8th and Saturday 9th at the University of Pisa there will be a conference on the new European Regulation on privacy, organised by the Master programme in "Internet ecosystem: governance and rights" of the Law Department. The European Regulation, which came into force a few days ago, changed the scenario of personal data protection, introducing new rights for European citizens and providing for the need of companies, institutions, organizations that process personal data to adopt a different process from the past in choosing the appropriate measures to guarantee above all the security of processed data that is increasingly at risk as recent events have shown. The new and complex legislation is now awaiting proof of practice and the challenges posed by it. The representatives of the Italian Privacy Authority - the vice president Augusta Iannini, the previous guarantor Francesco Pizzetti - and the corresponding Spanish colleagues will be consulted on this very current and delicate issue. The conference represents, in fact, the first Italian-Spanish study meeting on the specific subject of personal data processing, which will see authorities and scholars from both countries discussing the methodologies with which the regulation is being implemented.
