Art, Italian masterpieces <br> from Turin in Seville

(5 April 2019) Two of the most important masterpieces of Peter Paul Rubens, the undisputed leader of the Flemish seventeenth century, travel from Italy to Spain: Hercules in the Garden of the Hesperides and Deyanira Tempted by the Fury. The two large paintings preserved at the Royal Museums of Turin - Galleria Sabauda will be exhibited in the Palace of Lebrija in Seville until September 22nd in an exhibition entitled Rubens: Hercules and Deianira.  Masterpieces from Italian collections.  The exhibition is part of a larger project entitled "Masterpieces from Italian Collections" which aims to bring different masterpieces from the most important Italian museums into the splendid setting of the Palacio de Lebrija museum, tracing a thread each time with the prestigious finds preserved there. Masterpieces from Italian collections are promoted by the Third Pillar Foundation - International and created by Poema, Comediarting, and Arthemisia, with the sponsorship of the Municipality of Seville.  Curated by Anna Maria Bava, Director of the Galleria Sabauda in Turin with the collaboration of Cristina Carrillo de Albornoz de Fisac, the exhibition will be on view in the Museo Palacio de la Condesa de Lebrija from April 4th until September 22nd.
