(8 Mar) - In the last movie by the Italian director and actor Carlo Verdone there is a female star who doesn't appear but can be heard. In addition to a series of classics songs by The Doors, Steppenwolf, Scott Walker, and the original instrumental soundtrack of the Italian band Stadio, there are two songs - "Therese" and "Dans un instant, dans quelque temps" - both sang by Angelica Ponti. "I was in Brazil when Gaetano Curreri and Fabio Fornili (lead singer and guitarist of the Stadio) contacted me to sing in the soundtrack. I was really happy, because I appreciate their work and all the Verdone films. They sent me two songs for which I wrote the lyrics in Sao Paulo". So speaks Angelica Ponti, a French-Italian songwriter, who performs in the soundtrack of "Posti in piedi in paradiso", in theaters from last weekend and with a 3 million euros gross in just three days. "Working with Gaetano Curreri and the Stadio was a wonderful opportunity and the beginning of a friendship", Angelica concludes. WHO IS ANGELICA PONTI
Angelica Ponti is a French-Italian songwriter with a repertoire that ranges from French chanson to original arrangements of blues, jazz, samba and bossa nova standards. She has lived, studied and sang in Europe, Brazil and in the USA. She attended the Berkeley University, the New York's Actor's Studio, the Faculty of Languages ​​and Literature at the University of Bologna, and the music schools "Ottava", "Ciak" and the "Saint Louis College of Music" in Rome. Since 1996 she has followed courses and seminars on jazz, blues, musicology, gospel, choral and vocal technique with Marc Murphy, Nancy King, Norma Winstone, Gerard Kubick, Maria Pia De Vito, Stefano Zenni, Bobby Mc Ferrin, David Lynx, Ptah Brown, Jo Estill, Bob Stoloff, Paolo Damiani, Marvin Stamn, Roger Treece. Since 2005, she sings and collaborates in studio and in live shows with Giorgio Cuscito, Antonello Sorrentino, Giulia Salsone, Stefano Lenzi, Davide Pentassuglia, Enrico Zanisi, Alessandro De Berti, Stefano Nunzi, Marco Acquarelli, Paolo Tombolesi, Susanna Stivali, Fulvio Buccafusco, Andrea Colella, Carmen Falato, Domenico Sanna. She also sings in several chorus: Waldensian Church Gospel Choir, Saint Louis, Sat & B, Vocal Journey, Reverend Lee Brown Gospel Choir, Vocal Summit of Susanna Stivali. In 2006 she won a scholarship in musicology at the Nuoro Jazz Workshop.
