THAILAND: ALL SET FOR THE MOVIEMOV ITALIAN FILM FESTIVAL

Bangkok - The Moviemov Italian Film Festival returns to Bangkok from February 27th to March 1st, 2024, at House Samyan (Samyan Mitrtown). During the Festival - organized in collaboration with the Cultural Association Playtown Roma and the Italian-Thai Chamber of Commerce, with the support of the General Directorate for Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and the ICE Agency - contemporary Italian films and a retrospective on the work of director Ferzan Ozpetek will be screened. This is stated on the website of the Embassy of Italy in Bangkok. The opening night will feature the screening of "C'è ancora domani" (2023) by Paola Cortellesi, a feminist drama comedy set in post-war Italy, which was the highest-grossing film in Italy in 2023. The other films to be screened at House Samyan include: "L’ultima notte di Amore" (by Andrea Di Stefano, 2023), "Comandante" (by Edoardo De Angelis, 2023), "Ice" (by Fabrizio Moro and Alessio De Leonardis, 2023), "Io Capitano" (by Matteo Garrone, 2023), a film nominated for the 2024 Oscars in the Best International Film category, "Mia" (by Ivano De Matteo, 2023), "Mixed by Erry" (by Sydney Sibilia, 2023). The tribute to Ferzan Ozpetek, who will be among the honorary guests in Bangkok, includes the screening of the restored copy of "Il bagno turco - Hamam" (1997) in its international premiere after its presentation in Rome on February 12th, "Le fate ignoranti" (2001), and "Mine vagantis" (2010). The director will introduce the films and engage in dialogue with the audience. Actors Vinicio Marchioni, Milena Mancini, and Paola Minaccioni, protagonists of some of the films to be presented in Bangkok, will also participate in the Festival. (9colonne)
