The commitment of the Italian energy sector in Africa

Mogadishu - Today, June 4 at 4 PM, the event "Laudate Deum. The commitment of the Italian energy sector in Africa" will be held at Palazzo Borromeo in Rome, the second event in a series of initiatives on the "care of creation", organized by the Embassy of Italy to the Holy See. Sponsored by the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security and the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, the event will delve into the role of the private sector in fostering the energy transition and developing local communities, with a particular focus on Africa, a continent to which Italy pays prioritised attention and which holds a central role in the agenda of the Italian G7 Presidency and the Mattei Plan. Speakers will include Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson, Chancellor of the Pontifical Academies of Sciences and Social Sciences, the Italian government's special envoy for climate change, Francesco Corvaro, and representatives from Ansaldo Energia, Baker Hughes, CESI, ENEL, Eni, and Terna. The event will conclude with remarks from the special MAECI envoy for the Mattei Plan, Plenipotentiary Minister Massimo Riccardo, the Director General of the Borgo Laudato Si Training Center, Fabio Baggio, and the Secretary of the Dicastery for Evangelization, Section for First Evangelization and the New Particular Churches, Monsignor Fortunatus Nwachukwu. The series of initiatives on the "care of creation" by the Embassy of Italy to the Holy See, which began in April with a forum with young people, will continue in October with further initiatives, in collaboration with Italian and Vatican partners.
