Abu Dhabi - The Republic Day was celebrated in Abu Dhabi in the presence of over a thousand people and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, the guest of honor at the event. Serena Autieri performed, singing some of the most famous songs from the Italian musical tradition, while the Dubai Singer Choir performed the national anthems of the United Arab Emirates and Italy, as well as Giuseppe Verdi's "Va, pensiero". In his speech, Ambassador Lorenzo Fanara emphasized the excellent level of relations between Italy and the United Arab Emirates. He highlighted the need to work together for peaceful coexistence. He also stressed that Italy does not apply double standards when it comes to promoting peace and respect for international law, highlighting Italian humanitarian aid to Palestinian children and the "Food for Gaza" initiative recently launched by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
