The hi-tech of Piscine Castiglione at the Olympic Games

(Aug. 2) - Italy is massively present at the Olympic Games of London 2012, and not only with athletes and trainers. Piscine Castiglione, a company from the province of Mantua that for over 50 years held high the name of Made in Italy in the world, supplied seven pools for the Olympic Games, following Castiglione's natural vocation road for major sport events, after the successful commitment at Atlanta 96 and Beijing 08. The International Swimming Federation (FINA) choosed the Italian company for its consolidated experience over the years and for its new and innovative technologies developed for swimming and water polo. In fact, Piscine Castiglione has designed and built two high-tech tools useful for training and easily understand the competition in water. The Virtual Trainer allows monitoring of swimmers' performance - both in individual and relay - in real time and thanks to a wireless technology. The Waterpolo Visual System (WVS), thanks to a LED system placed inside and outside of the pool, allows a better understanding of the performance during a water polo game, useful both for public and for referees.
