Giuseppe Seán Coppola is the new Ambassador to Tanzania

Dar-Es-Salaam - Giuseppe Seán Coppola has taken office as the Italian Ambassador to Dar-Es-Salaam. Born in Lecce on March 19, 1972, Coppola graduated in International and Diplomatic Sciences from the University of Trieste in 1997. Following a competitive exam, he was appointed legation secretary in probation in the diplomatic career on December 29, 2000. After his initial assignments at the Directorate General for Sub-Saharan African Countries and the Directorate General for Development Cooperation of the ministry, in 2003 he became the second commercial secretary in Luanda, Angola. In 2006, he was appointed first commercial secretary at the Permanent Representation of Italy to the European Union in Brussels. In 2010, he returned to Rome to serve at the Directorate General for Political Affairs and Security at the Farnesina. In 2012, he was appointed counselor at the Permanent Representation of Italy to International Organizations in Vienna. In 2016, he became a counselor in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In 2020, he returned to Rome to serve at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers as the diplomatic advisor to the Minister for the South and Territorial Cohesion. In 2021, he returned to the Farnesina to take on the role of deputy director general and central director for IT, communications, and organizational well-being at the Directorate General for Administration, IT, and Communications. In 2024, he was appointed Ambassador of Italy to the United Republic of Tanzania. In 2013, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. (9colonne)
