Marcello Mastroianni legacy: films and insights

To commemorate Marcello Mastroianni's centenary, the Italian Cultural Institute in Abu Dhabi is organizing a special celebration featuring screenings of films starring the legendary Italian actor, a global cinema icon. The tribute to Mastroianni will also launch the "Cinema and Psychology" series, offering in-depth insights and introspective analyses of his film characters. Guiding the audience through this exploration will be psychotherapists who, drawing from the film narratives, will relate them to contemporary themes of relationships and family dynamics that resonate with our society, providing psychological insights for the attendees. The confirmed film titles in the lineup include "Miss Arizona" on September 9th, "Sunflower" on September 13th, and "Dark Eyes" on October 7th. These Italian cinema masterpieces will provide a unique opportunity for audiences to appreciate Mastroianni's talent and versatility, cementing his legacy as one of cinema's most beloved actors. Concluding the Mastroianni tribute series will be the recently released biopic about the actor's life, starring his daughter Chiara Mastroianni as her father, titled "Marcello, My Dear." The couples featured in the selected films for the series—Mitzi and Sandor, Giovanna and Antonio, Romano and Anna, Chiara and Marcello—will also offer a contemporary lens for psychological analysis of their intricate relationships.
