The exhibition titled "Nel cuore del Congo" will be inaugurated in Florence on July 24th at Palazzo Strozzi Sacrati, the headquarters of the Tuscany Region. This art exhibition presents an artistic and cultural overview dedicated to the Democratic Republic of Congo. It includes over 60 sculptures and traditional art objects, featuring large sculptures, masks, and a rich selection of statuary such as fetishes, as well as textiles, stools, and other representative items of various styles. The exhibition brings together a sampling of pieces from 27 villages in the DRC, offering an artistic overview that spans 12 cultural groups. "With this exhibition," said Eugenio Giani, President of the Tuscany Region, "we delve into the heart of African art and gather insights of great significance concerning aspects such as spiritual life, the relationship with nature and the world of ancestors, and material culture." The exhibition will be open to the public until August 25th.
