Stylish man on Earth? Lapo Elkann, according to Vanity Fair Spain

(Aug. 23) Lapo Elkann is a rather popular man, and his style knows no limits. Indeed, his style is more famous than that of Tom Ford, Roger Federer and Prince Felipe. Around the world, prestigious newspapers, such as the New York Times, Newsweek, and Le Monde, have acknowledged this fact, and the Conde Nast Traveller review has even granted Lapo the Innovation & Design Award. And this time, it’s Spain’s turn. For the second time in a row, Vanity Fair Spain crowns Mr. Elkann the best-dressed man. This appreciation come after Vogue America declared him best-dressed man in 2007, and Vanity Fair US inserted him in the 2009 Hall of Fame for Best Dressed Men. The article confirms his status, “Lapo is yet again the winner of the male category for Best Dressed. His rebel style conquers the world, above Tom Ford’s impeccability and Roger Federer’s ability to have perfect hair in any situation. Other finalists are Prince Felipe of Spain and Kyril, Prince of Preslav. The jury was composed of fashion experts such as Manolo Blahnik and designer Frida Giannini, Gucci’s creative director, who, alongside Lapo and Centro Stile Fiat, designed the Fiat 500 Gucci. In the female category, the thrown remains in the hands of Kate Moss, who surpasses Linda Evangelista and Charlotte Casiraghi”.

A STYLISH FAMILY: GIANNI AGNELLI’S STYLE

“Vestiamo alla marinara” (We dress marine style), is the title of Susanna Agnelli’s book about her family, the most powerful dynasty in the Italian industry. In fact, before Lapo made onto international newspapers, his grandfather Gianni had been the most scrutinized Agnelli. Nicknamed The Lawyer, Gianni was a true fashion trailblazer, imitated for years. His most daring and celebrated statement was to wear his watch above the shirt – element which became a symbol of the 1980s yuppies. A week before his death in January 2003, the Lawyer was the 4th best dressed man, according to Vogue. Lapo is indeed just following in his grandfather’s steps.
