IDFA 2024: Bridging Italian documentaries with global audiences

Amsterdam – The Italian Trade Agency (ICE) for the promotion and internationalization of Italian businesses announces its intention to organize, in collaboration with Doc/it - the Association of Italian Documentary Filmmakers, the Italian collective participation at the upcoming edition of IDFA - International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, which will take place in Amsterdam from November 14 to 24. IDFA is Europe’s leading festival for documentary cinema and the most prestigious co-production market on an international level. Each year, IDFA welcomes approximately 3,000 accredited professionals and brings together major international industry players, including key broadcasters, platforms, distributors, and financiers from around the world. The festival program typically presents around 290 documentary films from 85 countries and attracts an audience of about 250,000 visitors.

In addition to screenings, the festival hosts a series of industry events, including two main market sections: the IDFA Forum and Docs for Sale, the latter dedicated to international distribution. The IDFA Forum is the most significant platform for the international co-production of documentary films, attended by commissioning editors and decision-makers from leading broadcasters and international financiers in the industry.
