San José – The third World March for Peace and Nonviolence, which began on October 2nd in San José, Costa Rica, on the International Day of Nonviolence, will return to the Latin American country on January 5th after completing its global journey. Costa Rica was chosen as the starting and ending point for the march due to its status as a country without an army, a highly significant characteristic in this era of conflicts and wars. The group traveling the entire route of the march consists of volunteers who meet with associations, institutions, and individuals at each stop along the way. In Rome, representatives of the core team will be present for three days, from November 22nd to 24th. Numerous events are planned, involving schools, universities, associations, artists, and athletes, with the final event, featuring many speeches and performances, scheduled for November 24th at the Città dell'Altraeconomia. The initiative has received the patronage of the Metropolitan City of Rome and the Department of Education, Training, and Employment of the City of Rome. On November 15th at 10:00 AM, a press conference will be held at Palazzo Valentini to present the Roman stop, with the president of the Tourism, Fashion, and International Relations Commission of Rome Capital, Metropolitan Councilor Mariano Angelucci, who is sponsoring the initiative, along with councilor Carla Consuelo Fermiariello, Deputy Mayor Pierluigi Sanna of the Metropolitan City and Mayor of Colleferro. Marco Inglessis, President of Energia per i Diritti Umani Aps and member of the core team, will speak about the World March. (9colonne)
