Hamburg – Since 2010, the shortest day of the year, December 21, has been celebrated as International Short Film Day. In over fifty countries worldwide, this occasion is marked by screenings in cinemas, on television, or through dedicated events. The success of the initiative has made Short Film Day an ideal showcase for short films, which often struggle to find distribution outside the festival circuit.
The Italian National Short Film Center has curated a selection of Italian shorts, offering a snapshot of contemporary Italian production aimed at both domestic and international audiences. The lineup includes Bees by Luca Ciriello, Bad Penny by Yuri Costantino, Enrico’s Birthday by Francesco Sossai, La Petite Mort by Emanuele Daga, and Mariposa by Maurizio Forcella.
The Italian Cultural Institute in Hamburg is also joining the initiative, hosting a screening of these films on December 20, starting at 7 PM. (9colonne)
