The Caseificio dei Barbi has achieved remarkable success at the international cheese competitions held in Lyon and Frankfurt, which annually recognize the best cheeses in the world. The Montalcino-based Caseificio dei Barbi won seven medals: four golds, two silvers, and a prestigious "grand gold" at the Concours International de Lyon - Fromages et Produits Laitiers in France earlier this December and the Frankfurt International Cheese & Dairy Products Trophy recently concluded in Germany.
This triumph brings the cheese factory's international medal tally to an impressive 26 in just three years of renewed activity: 1 grand gold, 12 golds, 9 silvers, and 4 bronzes.
At the Lyon competition, the Caseificio dei Barbi earned two gold medals: one for its Cacio Miele Castagno e Polline and another for its Cacio al Tartufo. It also secured a silver medal for the Cacio al Tartufo Bianchetto.
Meanwhile, at the Frankfurt International Cheese & Dairy Products Trophy 2025, the Caseificio dei Barbi received a Grand Gold medal (awarded to cheeses scoring at least 92 points in tasting) for its Cacio al Tartufo Bianchetto. Additionally, the Cacio 24 Mesi and the Cacio Zafferano e Ginepro were honored with gold medals. (9colonne)
