Tesmec S.p.A., a leader in energy, data and material transport infrastructure technologies, announces the launch of strategic initiatives in France to strengthen its competitive position and synergies between divisions. The reorganisation of the subsidiary Groupe Marais aims to focus on the rental of mechanised cable-laying machines, while the production and sale of Trencher has been spun off into Tesmec France, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tesmec. In this context, Tesmec signed a strategic agreement with OT Engineering, a company of the Comergy group, to enter the capital of Groupe Marais. OT Engineering will acquire 20% of Groupe Marais in the first phase and 50% after an investment of €7.3 million. The deal will be concluded by March 2025, if the conditions precedent are met. The CEO of OT Engineering will also become Groupe Marais's operating president. The agreement will generate significant synergies, complementing OT Engineering's Greenpose range and facilitating the expansion of the rental business into sectors such as large works and pipelines. The capital injection will support the development of the French market and enable expansion in Europe and the US energy sector. At the same time, the production of Trencher has been transferred to Tesmec France, which will focus on the marketing of Trencher and the creation of a service centre for the rail business, while also promoting smart grids solutions in the Energy-Automation sector.
