Snowboard World Cup: Italy ready for the last challenge in Krynica

Everything is set on the snow of Krynica, Poland, where the final two World Cup events of the season in the Olympic parallel giant slalom discipline will take place on Saturday, March 1, and Sunday, March 2. The final phases of the competitions, preceded as usual by the qualifying rounds, will begin at 1:00 PM.

A total of 12 Italian snowboarders (eight men and four women) have been called up for the two-day event on the Polish course: Maurizio Bormolini (photo Miha Matavz/FIS), Roland Fischnaller, Daniele Bagozza, Edwin Coratti, Aaron March, Mirko Felicetti, Fabian Lantschner, and Gabriel Messner in the men’s competition, along with Lucia Dalmasso, Jasmin Coratti, Elisa Caffont, and Elisa Fava in the women’s field.

The upcoming weekend will be crucial, especially for Bormolini, who, with just two races remaining, is currently leading the discipline standings with 552 points, ahead of Bulgaria’s Radoslav Yankov (455) and Austria’s Andreas Prommegger (373). The athlete from Livigno also tops the overall World Cup ranking with 710 points, holding off Prommegger (577) and Yankov (543).
