Valletta – The works of Aldo Palazzeschi will be the focus of a lecture by Simone Magherini, Full Professor of Italian Literature and Director of the Department of Humanities and Philosophy at the University of Florence. The event will take place in Valletta on April 29 at 6 PM, at the Faculty of Arts Library.
Organized by the Department of Italian at the University of Malta and the Italian Cultural Institute in Valletta, the lecture — titled Le Poesie 1904–1914 di Aldo Palazzeschi, which is also the title of Magherini’s latest book published last year by Mondadori — will explore the poet’s early output, written during a period Palazzeschi vividly described as follows:
“I was truly young from 1904, the time of my first poems, until 1914. A full, passionate, mature youth. I had no youth before 1904, and never had it again after.”
