Philadelphia – What challenges do digital technologies pose to the protection of fundamental rights? How are regulations evolving in Europe and the United States to address artificial intelligence and data management?
These questions will take center stage on May 8–9, starting at 10 AM, during the international conference AI & Data Security: An Euro-American Dialogue for a New Era of Regulation, hosted at the University of Milano-Bicocca (Aula De Lillo – Building U7 “Civitas”).
The event, organized by the Department of Business and Law for the Economy (DiSEADE) in collaboration with Drexel University (Philadelphia) and Université de Rennes, will offer a two-day interdisciplinary dialogue featuring American and European academics, legal scholars, and industry experts.
Key topics include: AI and data protection regulation in the EU and US; digital surveillance and fundamental rights; AI’s impact on the labor market; and controversial applications of AI in law, healthcare, and consumer services.
Among the speakers: Jordan Fischer and Robert Field (Drexel), Erwann Picart-Cartron (IMT Atlantique), Philippe Pierre (Université de Rennes), and Milano-Bicocca professors Silvia Salardi, Carla Gulotta, Marta Sosa Navarro, Nadia Olivero, Francesca Mattassoglio, Elena di Carpegna Brivio, and Giovanni Zaccaroni.
