Buttaro celebrates 40 Years of Italian icons in Stockholm

Stockholm – Italian journalist Emilio Buttaro will share stories from his four-decade career of interviews with legends of entertainment and sports, in an event organized by the Comites of Stockholm and the Italian Catholic Mission.
Titled “Special Encounters in 40 Years of Bel Paese,” the event will take place on June 1st at 10:00 AM at the Catholic Cathedral Hall in the Swedish capital. Moderated by Vincenzo Procopio of Comites Stockholm, the talk will feature behind-the-scenes tales and personal reflections from Buttaro’s countless interviews—moments he describes as “wonderful traveling companions.”
From Mike Bongiorno to Carlo Conti, from Gino Bramieri to Adriano Celentano, from Claudia Cardinale to Paola Cortellesi, from Raffaella Carrà to Loretta Goggi, and sports icons such as Gianni Rivera, Gigi Riva, Felice Gimondi, Paolo Rossi, Gigi Buffon, and Francesco Totti—all the way to the immortals Pelé and Maradona—Buttaro has met them all.
These encounters are also a window onto an evolving Italy and the changing landscape of journalism. Through it all, Buttaro brings a personal voice, sharing the emotions and passion that have accompanied him throughout the years.
A contributor to numerous Italian and international outlets, and a host of international events, Buttaro is also known for his work supporting Italians abroad. In 2023, he received the “AIAE New York Journalism Award” at the Italian Consulate in New York, and in November 2024, he was honored in Madrid by La Voce d’Italia, a newspaper for Italians overseas.
