Salzburg – Professor Rinaldo Garziera, Director of the Department of Industrial Systems and Technology at the University of Parma, has been elected a full member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (EASA). The election, held on May 14 by the Academy’s Senate, recognizes Garziera’s scientific contributions in the field of Technical and Environmental Sciences (Class VI).
Garziera, who has been teaching Applied Mechanics at the University of Parma since 2001, will be formally welcomed during the Academy’s Plenary Session in Salzburg, scheduled for March 7, 2026.
The EASA, founded in 1990 and based in Salzburg, brings together over 2,000 leading figures from 73 countries—including 38 Nobel laureates. The Academy aims to foster dialogue between science, the arts, and public institutions, while contributing to solving Europe’s most pressing challenges.
