Stockholm – Italian journalist Emilio Buttaro will share four decades of memorable encounters with stars of the stage and sports world at a special event in Sweden, hosted by the Comites of Stockholm and the Italian Catholic Mission.
Titled “Special Encounters in 40 Years of Bel Paese”, the event will take place on June 1 at the Catholic Cathedral Hall in Stockholm, starting at 10 AM. It will be moderated by Vincenzo Procopio of the local Comites.
Buttaro, who has interviewed countless icons over the years, will recount behind-the-scenes moments and personal anecdotes, offering a heartfelt journey through his career. His stories feature the likes of Mike Bongiorno, Carlo Conti, Gino Bramieri, Adriano Celentano, Claudia Cardinale, Paola Cortellesi, Raffaella Carrà, Loretta Goggi, and legendary athletes including Gianni Rivera, Gigi Riva, Felice Gimondi, Paolo Rossi, Gigi Buffon, Francesco Totti – not to mention Pelé and Maradona.
Through these portraits, Buttaro also reflects on how Italy has changed, how journalism has evolved, and how his own passion has remained unwavering over time. A contributor to numerous Italian and international publications and host of major events, Buttaro has long been active in promoting the Italian community abroad. In 2023, he received the AIAE New York Journalism Award at the Italian Consulate in New York, and in November 2024 he was honored in Madrid by the international news outlet La Voce d’Italia.
