Paris – Two intense days of exchange and learning brought together experts, farmers, entrepreneurs, and researchers from Italy and France to explore the strengths of Tuscany’s agricultural model, which combines data management and cooperation to promote smart farming. On June 17 and 18, participants visited key agricultural sites across Arezzo and Montalcino as part of the Interreg Italy-France Maritime 2021–2027 project “INN-Pratica,” which fosters cross-border communities focused on innovation and ecological and digital transition in agriculture.
The initiative—coordinated by the Tuscany Region—is part of a broader program that connects regions like Corsica, Liguria, Tuscany, Sardinia, and Southern France through a series of study visits from April to October.
In Tuscany, the delegation focused on innovative practices in quinoa cultivation, precision viticulture, and digital technologies applied to agriculture. Visits included: the Demo Farm in Cesa (Marciano della Chiana), run by Ente Terre Regionali Toscane, featuring experimental fields, a vine germplasm collection, and a “Vineyard 4.0” system; the Arezzo Wine Cooperative in Chiani, where discussions focused on harvest regulations and grape quality assessment; and several wineries in Montalcino, such as Siro Pacenti, La Martoccia, and Argiano, where participants explored precision zoning techniques and smart tools for vineyard management.
