Spotify reveals most-streamed Italian artists abroad: Damiano David tops the charts

Stockholm – Spotify has released the list of the 30 most-listened-to tracks by Italian artists abroad during the first half of 2025, highlighting a booming international interest in Italian music. The growing global popularity of Italian acts had already been confirmed in Spotify’s Loud & Clear report, which noted that in 2024, nearly 50% of royalties earned by Italian artists came from outside Italy. This year, Damiano David takes the crown, claiming the top two spots with his singles “Next Summer” and “The First Time”, and landing a total of eight tracks in the top 30. Close behind is Anyma, the solo project of Italian-American producer Matteo Milleri, whose track “Hypnotized” featuring Ellie Goulding takes third place. Anyma has a total of five tracks on the list, confirming his global impact. The chart also reflects the diversity of Italian music breaking through internationally—from Gabry Ponte’s dancefloor hit “Exotica”, to Giorgio Moroder’s collab with The Weeknd “Big Sleep”, to EDM giants like Marnik alongside Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and W&W on “YEAH”. The spectrum includes Sanremo-born rap by Fedez (“Battito”), the modern songwriting of Achille Lauro (“Incoscienti Giovani”), the evocative piano melodies of Ludovico Einaudi (“Jay”), and club-ready anthems like “Edge Of The World” by Genesi and Meduza, featuring Innellea and Nu-La.
