As part of the 2025 edition of the International Street Theatre Festival in Aurillac, France, the Italian Cultural Institute in Marseille supports and promotes the participation of “Solo Gesto” by Elisabetta Guttuso at the Festival Off. The performance was created as part of an artist residency at the IIC in Marseille in April 2025. The show will take place from 20 to 23 August. “Solo Gesto” is a dance solo inspired by Sicilian gestures, revealing the cultural heritage and identity of the performer: in an intimate dialogue between memory and movement, the work evokes stories and emotions deeply rooted in her life. Through the rediscovery of Sicilian trousseau items gifted by her grandmother, forgotten gestures come back to life. The musical creation, a bridge between past and present, accompanies this sensitive and intimate journey.
