An Italian-language theatre workshop is launching in Bogotá, organised by Ponte tra Culture Colombia at the Italian Cultural Institute of Bogotá. The workshop will run every Tuesday from 5 August to 2 December, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., offering a valuable opportunity to learn Italian and engage with Italian culture through the world of theatre. This semester, the course will be led by Italian director and teacher Gianluca Barbadori, along with Colombian-Italian actress and singer Valentina Blando. It will explore the life and work of the great actor, playwright, director, and humourist Eduardo De Filippo. Participants will work with a variety of educational tools – including conversation, theatre games, acting and improvisation exercises, dramatic readings, stage direction, songs, and actor training. The workshop is open to all ages, regardless of Italian language proficiency or prior theatre experience. The group will be formed with a mix of levels, both in terms of language and acting ability, encouraging collaborative growth. No previous experience is required – only a willingness to learn, play, and fully commit to attending the sessions and completing the tasks necessary for the final performance. The focus will be on creating original material, memorising texts in Italian, working with music, and exploring cultural elements.
