Concluding the celebrations for its 80th anniversary, the Famée Furlane of Montevideo presents the world premiere of its new project: a performance entitled “Like a Drop of Water That Crossed the Ocean”, created by Friulian artists Alvisi Nodale, Carlotta Del Bianco, and Maurizio Mattiuzza. Songs, letters, memories, and the future of Friulian emigration in the Río de la Plata region take center stage. Preserved as treasured heirlooms by descendants, the audience will rediscover old letters exchanged between emigrants and their families during the World Wars, brought to life through the voices and songs of three acclaimed artists who will blend these words with poems, songs, and melodies from the Friuli of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. The event will take place at the Italian Cultural Institute on Thursday, August 7 at 7:00 PM.
