Munich – Italy has once again taken center stage on the international craft beer scene, thanks to the prestigious accolades earned at the European Beer Star 2025, one of the world’s most renowned brewing competitions. During the awards ceremony held Wednesday at Drinktec in Munich, Italian breweries brought home an impressive 37 medals across multiple categories, underscoring the outstanding quality of the country’s production.

Leading the way was Birrificio 50&50, already named “Brewery of the Year” at Birra dell’Anno 2025, the national competition organized by Unionbirrai. The brewery confirmed its excellence at the European Beer Star as well, claiming five medals, including gold in the New-Style Lager category with SLO MO and gold in the Flavoured or Pastry Stout category with OX&DONKEY.

Many other Italian craft breweries also earned recognition for their beers, including MC77, Birra Perugia, Birrificio Lambrate, Bozner Weisse, Birrificio Manerba, Giustospirito, Birrificio del Forte, Birra 100Venti, Birrificio WAR, Pintalpina, Biren, Elvo Brewery, Birra Puddu, Beha, and Mastri Birrai Umbri, among others.
