Cracow – This year’s Italian Language Week offers an opportunity to celebrate one of Italy’s greatest writers on the centenary of his birth: Andrea Camilleri. The Italian Institute in Cracow, in collaboration with the Department of Italian Studies at the University of Wrocław, has organized a special event on October 16 at 10:15 a.m. at the Institute of Romance Philology.
The program features a screening of the documentary Camilleri sono…, produced by TG2 Dossier and directed by Adriana Pannitteri. The screening will be followed by a panel discussing Camilleri’s reception and enduring legacy in Poland. Participants include Monika Woźniak, the principal translator of Camilleri’s works into Polish (Sapienza University of Rome), and Justyna Łukaszewicz (University of Wrocław).
