Expo Osaka 2025: Italy’s Pavilion wins top honors and captivates visitors

Expo Osaka 2025 concluded with great success, transforming the Japanese city into a global laboratory of innovation, culture, and sustainability for six months.
Among the highlights was the Italy Pavilion — one of the most visited — which received first prize in the “Theme Development” category at the BIE Awards.
Italy’s regions played a leading role, showcasing the productive, cultural, and creative excellence of their territories during their dedicated Regional Days.
This achievement was made possible thanks to the support of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Japan, an official partner of the Italy Pavilion. The Chamber assisted 13 of the 18 participating regions in organizing, communicating, and promoting their events, facilitating dialogue with Japanese institutions, local operators, and the international public.
Through exhibitions, events, B2B meetings, and cultural initiatives, the Chamber helped transform the Italy Pavilion into a true showcase of authentic Made in Italy — an expression of the richness and diversity of Italian regions.
Among the most appreciated experiences was the exhibition “Genius of Tuscany,” a journey through the timeless creativity of the region.
Piedmont highlighted its gastronomic identity with a gala dinner dedicated to Alta Langa DOCG and White Truffle of Alba.
The Chamber supported Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna in hosting targeted B2B meetings to connect companies and Japanese investors, fostering partnerships in technological innovation, the Motor Valley, and high-quality agri-food.
The event “Io sono Futuro” (I Am Future), promoted by Fondazione Della Frera and the Lombardy Region, showcased eight start-ups born from student projects spanning biotechnology, artificial intelligence, aerospace, and sustainability.
The Marche Region presented “ARS: traditions and innovations,” a narrative blending tradition and modernity through Food, Fashion, and Furniture.
Molise surprised visitors with “MoliSAKURA,” a poetic blend of Mediterranean and Japanese symbols that celebrated sustainability and authentic excellence — from Tintilia wine and white truffles to caciocavallo cheese.
