London – The Basilicata Tourism Promotion Agency (APT) is taking part in the World Travel Market London (November 4–6), one of the world’s leading international tourism fairs. The region will be represented within the ENIT – Italian National Tourism Board pavilion, alongside several specialized local tour operators (Ferula Viaggi, Martulli Viaggi DMC, Palazzo del Duca Luxury Hotel, BV Quarry Hotel Collection, and Best Western Plus Dimora del Monaco).
The Lucanian delegation will present the region’s diverse tourism offer — from outdoor adventures to cultural itineraries, from food and wine to immersive experiences in historic villages. Basilicata appeals to varied audiences: trekking and cycling enthusiasts, wine lovers, cinephiles exploring famous film locations, and travelers seeking unspoiled nature.
Among the initiatives featured in London are the Basilicata Coast to Coast trail — a 167-kilometer route connecting the Tyrrhenian and Ionian Seas — and Fantastico Medioevo, a project dedicated to the region’s medieval heritage under Emperor Frederick II. Coordinated by Fondazione Matera Basilicata 2019, with APT Basilicata, Lucana Film Commission, and Regione Normandia, the initiative celebrates castles, cathedrals, and the 1231 Constitutions of Melfi, rediscovering a pivotal era that shaped the region’s identity.
APT Basilicata will also join the press launch of 2027 – European Year of the Normans, involving eight regions across Europe, aimed at fostering lasting cultural and tourism synergies while promoting a shared European memory.
