Italian businesses in Hungary explore SIMEST financial tools

Budapest – On May 7, the residence of the Italian Ambassador to Hungary, Giuseppe Scognamiglio, hosted the event “SIMEST Financial Instruments and the Services of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Hungary for Italian Companies.”
Organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Hungary in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Budapest and ITA – Italian Trade Agency, the initiative brought together 35 Italian companies operating on the Hungarian market to explore financial tools and support services for international growth.
Opening remarks were delivered by Ambassador Giuseppe Scognamiglio, who highlighted the importance of economic cooperation between Italy and Hungary and the need to support Italian companies in their international expansion strategies. Bernardino Pusceddu, President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Hungary, also emphasized the Chamber’s role in fostering internationalization through networking, operational support, and connections with the local business community.
The event focused on the presentation of SIMEST financial instruments for Italian companies pursuing international development. SIMEST President Vittorio de Pedys and Senior Institutional Relations Specialist Federica Ingrosso outlined the company’s main support measures, including subsidized financing and, in some cases, non-repayable co-financing aimed at strengthening competitiveness, skills, and commercial growth.
The discussion also highlighted the Chamber’s role as an operational partner for businesses seeking access to SIMEST opportunities through guidance, support, and tailored assistance.
Closing the event, CCIU board member Pierluigi Asuni stressed that successful internationalization requires not only financial tools, but also market knowledge, strong relationships, and a structured local presence.
