Acqualagna’s truffles seduces Belgium’s Royals

Oct. 21 - The Royal family appreciated its aroma and its taste. The truffle of Acqualagna arrived on the lush tables of Belgium thanks to a merchant from the Marche region, who supplied the palace with a large quantity of white truffle, also known as "tuber magnatum pico", for a private event. Its quality and taste had already been praised by Prince Philip of Edinburgh, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, who in previous years received personal counseling from the mayor of Acqualagna Andrea Pierotti and a team of local experts for his truffle patch. Now, it’s quite clear that the Acqualagna truffle has become popular with the delicate palates of European royals, on and off the continent. (Red)
