BigItaly International

BOOKS,

Tel Aviv - The Beit Ariela Cultural Center and the HaSifria Hahadasha publishing house, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Tel Aviv, have organized the presentation event for the publication of "If This Is a Man" by Primo Levi in Hebrew, translated thanks to a contribution from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The book is presented for the first time in complete Hebrew version, stylistically close to Levi's signature. Participating in the event, scheduled for March 6th at 7:30 PM at Beit Ariela, Shderot Shaul Hamelech 25, Tel Aviv-Yafo - as stated on the IIC website - are Professor Menachem Perry, literature scholar, book editor, and curator of HaSifria Hadasha; Meron Rapoport, translator of the book; Yael Neeman, writer and publisher; Liat Elkayam, writer, screenwriter, and cultural critic. In 1946, Primo Levi almost overnight matured into the qualities of a great writer with an unforgettable warm, intelligent, and calm voice. In this book, the author reflects on those to whom the camp denied human identity, questioning "if this is a man" and clinging to small episodes of impressive humanity. (9colonne)
