Lubumbashi - Italy will also participate in the DRC Mining Week 2024 in Congo. The Ice-Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies - in collaboration with the trade associations UNACEA and ANIMA Confindustria Meccanica Varia with the associations AISEM and UcoMESA - is organizing the collective of Italian companies. The DRC Mining Week - which will take place in Lubumbashi from June 12th to 14th - represents a privileged meeting place with public and private operators in the Congolese mining sector, which is undergoing a season of reform and new awareness with a view to sustainability and social development. There are indeed many evolving projects related to the mining sector, such as the recent news of the agreement between the DRC and Zambia for the creation of two SEZs in the border region between the two countries for the establishment of battery production plants for the automotive sector and negotiations nearing completion with the EU for the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the country, similar to the one concluded with Namibia.
