Tunis – The Week of the Italian Language in Tunisia will begin with an event featuring Donatella Di Pietrantonio. The event, organized by the Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Tunis, will take place on October 14 at 9:30 AM at the Institut Supérieur des Langues de Tunis, where the author will meet and engage with students to talk about her book The Fragile Age, winner of the Strega Prize, and the value of literary writing in contemporary times. The author will have two more events in the Tunisian capital, at the Italian Cultural Institute and then at La Manouba University, on October 15 and 16, respectively. Other key events during the week include educational workshops on writing, book cover design, and a conference at the Italian School of Tunis focused on the comparison between digital reading and reading on paper. At the ISLN in Nabeul, there will be discussions on literary exile with Swiss-Italian writer Marco Alloni, on Italian books translated into Arabic with Ahmed Somai, and on the relationship between cinema and books with the screening of the film The Eight Mountains. Italian students at the University of Sfax will have the opportunity to participate in a series of readings and meetings with linguist Francesca Malagnini from the University for Foreigners of Perugia, who will discuss the trends in contemporary Italian.
