A celebration of Brazilian and Italian music: Emanuele Schillaci in Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro – Two concerts and two masterclasses in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for the Roman guitarist Emanuele Schillaci. The first event is scheduled for this evening at the Casa do Choro in the Brazilian city, the capital of the state of Rio de Janeiro. In this cultural venue, built to promote and preserve the legacy of choro, a musical genre born in the city, Schillaci, a student of maestros Giovanni Puddu and Arturo Tallini, graduated from the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome and earned his Master's degree in Guitar with honors at the “Incontri col Maestro” International Academy in Imola. He will perform a program featuring clear influences from Brazilian music, including compositions written by Schillaci himself, which are due to be published by the Japanese publishing house Da Vinci Publishing. On Sunday, November 17, and Monday, November 18, he will hold two masterclasses at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) as part of the “Young Musical Talents Around the World” project, promoted by CIDIM (National Italian Music Committee) in collaboration with the Chigiana Academy and the “Incontri col Maestro” International Academy Foundation of Imola. On Tuesday, November 19, at 7:00 PM, the second and final concert will take place at the Department of Stringed Instruments at the Escola de Música of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
