Fighting corruption together: ANAC and Moldova strengthen ties in Rome

Chisinau - A delegation of Moldovan judges and officials was received last Thursday at the headquarters of the National Anti-Corruption Authority (ANAC) in Rome for a meeting attended by several ANAC representatives. This meeting was part of a study visit to Italy organized with the involvement of the OSCE under a project aimed at supporting the fight against corruption in Moldova.

The institutional exchange was opened by Laura Valli, a member of the ANAC Board. The delegation, which included Moldovan experts, two Romanian judges, and officials from the OSCE Secretariat, discussed the characteristics of Italy's corruption prevention system, the responsibilities of ANAC, and the Authority's role in international cooperation on public integrity.

The discussion also covered the National Anti-Corruption Plan, risk analysis related to corruption phenomena, relations with authorities responsible for combating these issues in the judicial field, collaborative oversight of public procurement, and ANAC’s National Database of Public Contracts.

The goal of the OSCE project, which is also funded by Italy, is to help prevent and combat corruption in Moldova by supporting the country’s efforts to align with European and international standards, and reinforcing the initiatives of the international community in this area. (9colonne)
