Ennio Morricone’s masterpieces come to life in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa - A double recital in Ethiopia featuring Andrea Griminelli on flute and Amedeo Salvato on piano, performing music by Ennio Morricone

This evening, at 7:30 PM, Villa Italia in the heart of Addis Ababa will host the first of two events showcasing the artistry of Andrea Griminelli, a world-renowned flutist who, throughout his illustrious career, has performed alongside Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, Sting, Zucchero, and many others. The second performance will take place tomorrow, Friday, December 6, at 6:00 PM at the G. Verdi Auditorium.

The events are organized by CIDIM – the Italian National Music Committee, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Addis Ababa, as part of the Suono Italiano project. This initiative, supported by the Ministry of Culture’s Directorate-General for Performing Arts, celebrates Italian music around the globe.

The program includes some of Ennio Morricone’s most beautiful and iconic compositions: Saharan Dream (The Sheltering Sky), a medley from Once Upon a Time in the West, My Heart and I (La Piovra), and a medley from Cinema Paradiso. (9colonne)
