Bobsleigh World Cup heads to Lillehammer for the season’s last battles

The Bobsleigh World Cup arrives in Lillehammer, the Norwegian town that hosted the 1994 Winter Olympics, for the final two rounds of the season. The competition kicks off on Saturday, February 8, and Sunday, February 9, with the two-man and four-man bobsleigh events. For these races, technical director Maurizio Oioli has selected Patrick Baumgartner, Eric Fantazzini, Robert Mircea, Fabio Batti, and Lorenzo Bilotti.

Baumgartner currently holds fourth place in the two-man bobsleigh standings with 976 points, trailing the German duo of Friedrich (1310) and Lochmann (1295), as well as Britain’s Hall. Friedrich also leads the four-man bobsleigh rankings with 1095 points, ahead of Hall (1044) and Lochner (996), while the Italian athlete sits in fifth place with 848 points.
