After the great success of previous editions among both Italian and Austrian audiences, the Dante Alighieri Italian Institute of Innsbruck has announced the fifth edition of “Italian Book Week,” taking place from March 31 to April 4.
This event is made possible thanks to the collaboration of publishing houses, participating writers, and institutions such as the Italian Embassy in Vienna, Euregio, the Municipality of Innsbruck, and the Italian Cultural Institute of Vienna.
The event welcomes readers, literature enthusiasts, and lovers of Italian culture worldwide, promoting knowledge through literature. Its goal is to create a cultural bridge between Italy and Austria, celebrating and promoting Italian literature and culture in Tyrol. Through interactive activities and meetings with renowned authors, it offers a space for exploration and in-depth discussions on various themes and literary genres.
"Tell Me a Story: A Journey Through Genres" is the theme of the 2025 edition. The event will run for five days, each dedicated to a different literary genre, with interviews featuring Italian authors, live events, and interactive activities.
The Institute’s president, Piero Salituri, emphasizes: "Today, in an era where digitalization and social media have transformed the way we communicate, reading risks losing ground, especially among younger generations. Yet, reading is not just a pastime; it is an act of knowledge, a bridge between cultures, and an exercise in freedom. Books help us understand the world, develop critical thinking, and preserve the heritage of ideas that define us. This is why the Dante Alighieri Institute of Innsbruck is dedicated to promoting reading and recognizing literature as a fundamental pillar of cultural and intellectual growth."
