ICE workshop dedicated to the food and wine sector

Interest from Slovak operators and consumers in Italian wines and agri-food products continues to grow. For this reason, the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) is organizing a promotional workshop for the Italian food and wine sector, to be held on September 18 in Bratislava. The initiative aims to increase Italian exports of food products and wines to the Slovak Republic by promoting their variety, organoleptic characteristics, and territorial ties to a local audience of professionals. Participating Italian companies will have the opportunity to engage with industry professionals, sommeliers, restaurateurs, representatives of large-scale retail, bloggers, and journalists through open tastings and B2B meetings in a walk-around tasting format. Bratislava stands out as the most important retail market in Slovakia and as the economic and commercial hub of the country, thanks to its advanced infrastructure, well-developed distribution networks, and proximity to Austria (less than an hour's drive from Vienna). The retail landscape in Slovakia is characterized by a dynamic and diverse network of retail and wholesale businesses, and online retail is also gaining increasing popularity. There is a growing demand for organic products, with offerings in stores now including not only fresh items like fruits, vegetables, and organic meat but also a variety of packaged goods such as cereals, dairy products, and snacks.
