Bucharest – As part of the Cinemascop Festival, taking place in Eforie Sud near Bucharest from 1 to 10 August 2025, Paolo Virzì’s film “Like Crazy” (La pazza gioia) will be screened on 3 August at 9:00 p.m. A dramedy starring Valeria Bruni Tedeschi and Micaela Ramazzotti, the film tells the story of two women, two worlds, and one shared escape towards freedom. The protagonists of the 2016 film are Beatrice Morandini Valdirana and Donatella Morelli – two seemingly incompatible souls who end up sharing the same space, the same traumas, and ultimately, the same wild desire to live. In a therapeutic centre near Pistoia, Villa Biondi, Beatrice (brilliantly portrayed by Valeria Bruni Tedeschi) – an aristocrat full of quirks, sharp wit, and a diary filled with VIPs – meets a fragile, tormented woman: Donatella (a moving Micaela Ramazzotti), marked by the trauma of losing her child. Like Crazy is a tender and chaotic journey, filled with boisterous laughter and moments of deep emotion. A gripping “women’s movie” that perfectly blends comedy and drama, and that ultimately leaves you changed – like a summer you’ll never forget. The film is presented with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute in Bucharest. (9Colonne)
