Niger: MISIN activities in support of the population continue

Niamey – The Bilateral Support Mission in Niger (MISIN) renews its commitment to supporting the local population and authorities through targeted infrastructure initiatives aimed at promoting security, stability, and sustainable development in the country. MISIN has recently completed two projects aimed at strengthening water infrastructure in Agadez and Niamey, with the goal of ensuring safe, consistent, and sustainable access to water resources for local communities. The first intervention, completed in June, involved the renovation of the artesian well at the “Sidi Mohamed” regional stadium in Agadez. The work included the installation of a 10-cubic-metre storage tank, the development of a solar-powered pumping system, and the construction of a fence to ensure the safety and integrity of the facility. The second project, carried out at the Wadataa Craft Village in Niamey, consisted of the construction of a new well intended to meet the needs of visitors, artisans, and young apprentices attending the cultural centre of the same name. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Italian Ambassador to Niger, Roberto Orlando, the Commander of MISIN, Brigadier General Giovanni Quartuccio, and local authorities. (9colonne)
