Mitrovica – The Italian Cultural Institute of Tirana, in collaboration with Mitrovica International Jazz Days, is organising a concert on 10 August at 7pm at City Park in Mitrovica, Kosovo, featuring the Gianluca Petrella Cosmic Renaissance quintet. The ensemble includes Mirco Rubegni (trumpet), Simone Padovani (percussion), Federico Scettri (drums), and Michele Papadia (keyboards), led by one of the most innovative musicians on the contemporary scene. Trombonist, composer, and producer Gianluca Petrella is a leading figure in international jazz – a true creative force who redefines and reimagines styles, genres, and musical languages. In Mitrovica, he presents Cosmic Renaissance, a project inspired by the visionary music of Sun Ra, blending jazz, electronics, Afrofuturism, and tribal sounds into a sonic map that links past, present, and future. It promises to be a journey beyond the boundaries of traditional jazz – an immersive experience filled with exotic soundscapes and dreams of escape. (9colonne)
