Marseille – From September 11 to 13, the Italian Cultural Institute of Marseille will host Italian Migrant Writings in the Mediterranean, three days of encounters, readings, and testimonies dedicated to literary and autobiographical narratives linked to the Italian migration experience across the Mediterranean. The initiative is part of the international festival Matabbìa, launched in Marsala in 2022 to preserve the memory of Italian communities that migrated between the northern and southern shores of the Mediterranean. After editions in Marsala (2022), Tunis (2023), and Mazara del Vallo (2024), the 2025 event arrives in Marseille with the aim of deepening the relationship between memory and identity through the voices of writers, researchers, and scholars.
