Santiago – On September 4 at 7:00 p.m., the Auditorium of the Italian Cultural Institute in Santiago will host a screening of Io sono Mia, the biopic directed by Riccardo Donna and dedicated to Mia Martini, one of the most powerful and beloved voices in Italian music, marking thirty years since her untimely passing.
Organized by the IIC Santiago in collaboration with the ACI – Asociación Cultural Italiana, the film stars Serena Rossi and retraces the human and artistic journey of “Mimì.” From her early musical passion to fame, through personal and professional struggles, and culminating in her comeback at the 1989 Sanremo Festival, the narrative unfolds through flashbacks and a soundtrack revisiting her most iconic songs. The film captures the sensitivity, strength, and fragility of an artist who remains a symbol of authenticity and emotion in Italian music.
